Hobby: Helping Mom with household chores or just hanging out with Mom, especially in her lap

Pet Peeve: Not getting enough attention

Favorite Toy: It varies. Right now my favorites are my "catnip toss" toys that Mom throws to me to chase.

Favorite Thing to Eat: Almost any kind of fish. Mom gives me a little cooked catfish or canned tuna/salmon as occasional treats.

(Twixy) What's it like in Texas?

(Felix) Mom’s helping me with this one. Texas is a big state, of course, and varied. That’s what makes it so interesting. Each region of the state has its own unique features. Mom and I live in Southeast Texas, not far from the Gulf Coast. The culture around here is largely that of the Deep South. In North Texas (the Dallas/Fort Worth area) where I was born and Mom adopted me, it’s more urban and sophisticated. West Texas is a whole different animal, so to speak – it’s definitely part of the Southwest. And that still doesn’t cover the entire state!

(Twixy) What is your favorite things to do over at your Grandma’s house?

(Felix) I like to explore all of the closets – Grandma has several more than Mom does. She also has a lot more windows, and I enjoy sitting at the windows watching the birds and the outside cats (Grandma takes care of some feral kitties that have taken up residence there). Sometimes her cat Domino and I will have a romp, when he’s not sulking about me being there.

(Twixy) What’s it like being a “High-Tech” kitty now?

(Felix) It doesn’t feel any different, but Mom says it gives her extra peace of mind in case I got out somehow. I have a collar and ID tag, too. I’m an inside cat, but Mom has heard of instances when kitties have escaped after a break-in or a fire or something.

(Twixy) What is your favorite things to play with your Mom?

(Felix) I like for Mom to throw my little fabric catnip toys around the apartment for me to chase and ambush. I also like for her to roll one of my plastic jingle balls to me to bat away. She gets to fetch them!

(Twixy) I’ve noticed you’ve posted a couple of quotes in your diary. Do you have a favorite?

(Felix) Yes. I particularly like this one from Mark Twain: "Of all God's creatures there is only one that cannot be made the slave of the lash. That one is the cat. If man could be crossed with the cat it would improve man, but it would deteriorate the cat."
